Housing Condition Index

Homes are compared on price. They should also be compared on condition.

Housing Condition Index builds the data and the software behind that comparison — condition data drawn from real inspection findings dating back to 2013, and the booking, customer, and reporting platform that professional home inspection companies run their business on.

One dataset, two products: a data analysis and reporting service, and Pocket Inspector, our booking and customer platform. Both are built and proven inside an active, high-volume home inspection company — not designed in the abstract.

What We Build

Two products, one dataset

Software

Pocket Inspector

The booking and customer platform: sqft-aware quoting and bundling, online scheduling, a client portal for reports and follow-up services, and Ava — an SMS & voice assistant that answers calls, books jobs, takes deposits, and recovers missed calls automatically.

Runs the full front office so inspectors spend less time on the phone and more time in the field.

Data

Data & Reporting

Every inspection finding, structured and analyzed. We turn a company's own inspection history into regional condition reports, realtor briefs, and public data assets that build credibility with buyers, agents, press, and insurers alike.

Your inspection data, working for you after the report is delivered.

Proven in the Field

Built inside a real inspection company, not a lab

Housing Condition Index grew out of Cornerstone Home Inspectors, a family-owned inspection company serving the Wiregrass region of Alabama and the Florida panhandle since 2013. Every feature — the booking assistant, the client portal, the reporting pipeline — was built to run a real company first, then packaged for others.

Cornerstone's 2025 regional condition report, produced on this same data pipeline, is publicly cited by local media and real estate professionals as the reference for home condition trends in its market. See the research.
Who Relies on HCI

Built for inspectors. Trusted as a data source.

Inspection Companies

A booking and reporting platform built by people who run inspections every day, not a generic CRM adapted for the trade.

Insurance & Risk Teams

Structured, field-collected condition data on aging systems, moisture, and safety findings — sourced from licensed inspectors, not surveys or estimates.

Media & Researchers

Regional home condition reports with clear methodology, built for citation — a documented, dated dataset behind every published figure.
